My little weekend project....I love it so much!! I will post directions and pics below:)

First we made a template on paper.
Then we traced it onto the plywood ( We used a piece of sanded plywood 2ft X 4ft, 1/4 inch thick)
Next, my sweet hubby cut it out using a jigsaw
Then we sanded it and painted it white or whatever you want your base color to be:)
The next step is the most time consuming and the most tedious. I used the green Frog Tape to make the chevron design. You will also need a ruler, a pencil and an exacto knife. We tried 2 different ways to make the chevron design.  First I traced the design using carbon paper onto the wood, and then taped the lines. After some thought I decided to draw the design, we made 2 inch by 2 inch blocks and connected the corners to make the chevron design. This was so much easier than using the carbon paper and it was more exact. We also used blue painters tape for this one.

Once you have the desired design I suggest you put another coat of white paint over all the tape to prevent bleeding below the tape. Allow this to dry completely and then paint over it all with the color of your choice. I used Valspar "Crocodile Smile". Allow to dry and drill your holes for the hanger and bow of your choice.  Finish it off with a clear coat.

I also suggest painting the back of the cross solid white.

The burlap for my bow came from Walmart and the letter S is from Hobby Lobby.
