My first 5K....praising God, He is where my strength comes from.

Isa 40:31 (NIV) But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

"Multiply"

Thanks to our women's ministry we were given copies of the book "Mulitply". The book is about being a disciple of Christ and making disciples of others.
I am so excited about this study. My prayer is to fall deeper in love with Jesus and live my life according to His purpose.

CLOSET REDO

For starters, I removed EVERYTHING out of my closet.

My hubby took down the rails. We painted the whole closet and he installed white baseboards. He also hung a new light. Then he installed four rods, two on each end of the closet which gave me sooo much more room! Then he added the shelves.

To top it off my sister gave me an antique vanity with mirror and chair.
I arranged my purses/bags on the shelves. My shirts are hanging on the top and jeans/pants on the bottom. To the left I have my dresses, gowns, belts and scarves on the top and jackets on the bottom. I placed my shoes underneath my clothes. I used silver shower hooks to hang my scarves. In the vanity I have my makeup in the middle drawer. I used the other drawers to neatly divide my undergarments. I also organized my jewelry in one of the bottom drawers.
So nice to have all my stuff in one place! My own little dressing room:)

My little weekend project....I love it so much!! I will post directions and pics below:)

First we made a template on paper.
Then we traced it onto the plywood ( We used a piece of sanded plywood 2ft X 4ft, 1/4 inch thick)
Next, my sweet hubby cut it out using a jigsaw
Then we sanded it and painted it white or whatever you want your base color to be:)
The next step is the most time consuming and the most tedious. I used the green Frog Tape to make the chevron design. You will also need a ruler, a pencil and an exacto knife. We tried 2 different ways to make the chevron design.  First I traced the design using carbon paper onto the wood, and then taped the lines. After some thought I decided to draw the design, we made 2 inch by 2 inch blocks and connected the corners to make the chevron design. This was so much easier than using the carbon paper and it was more exact. We also used blue painters tape for this one.

Once you have the desired design I suggest you put another coat of white paint over all the tape to prevent bleeding below the tape. Allow this to dry completely and then paint over it all with the color of your choice. I used Valspar "Crocodile Smile". Allow to dry and drill your holes for the hanger and bow of your choice.  Finish it off with a clear coat.

I also suggest painting the back of the cross solid white.

The burlap for my bow came from Walmart and the letter S is from Hobby Lobby.

I've been pretty active all my life from aerobics, pilates, yoga to running. However, with my busy life as I am "dashing" from place to place taking care of all our to do's, I have put the one thing I enjoyed most, running, on the back burner. Running for me is not only a way to get in shape it is an amazing stress reliever. Today with the encouragement of a wonderful friend we are getting back at it!! Wish me luck:)
My newest purchase. Isn't the exact color I wanted but it matches:)

We started off our summer just right! Our family of 5 along with my sister's family visited Half Moon Cay and Nassau, Bahamas.
